Smart required an acoustic solution to reduce noise from a bank of compressors positioned close to their production and office areas. The acoustic barrier needed to deliver a significant drop in noise levels while maintaining safe access for maintenance, adequate ventilation, and a clean, professional appearance.
The project called for a robust system that could be installed around existing equipment with minimal disruption to operations, integrating neatly with existing services and allowing future reconfiguration if the layout of the plant changed.
Solution
Gilcrest supplied a bespoke Puracoustic panel barrier to fully surround the compressor set. The modular acoustic panels were designed to achieve the required sound reduction while incorporating a purpose-built access door and bespoke cut outs for pipework and cabling.
The modular panel system allowed the enclosure to be installed efficiently around the existing equipment, with joints, trims, and interfaces carefully detailed to form a high performance acoustic barrier that remains robust, easy to clean, and suitable for a busy industrial environment.
