The Challenge

Sunken Trampolines needed a structural frame and panel system that would deliver precise fit, high load-bearing performance, and long-term durability in both indoor and outdoor environments. Off-the-shelf framing systems lacked the custom dimensions, engineered tolerances and structural strength required for safe, flush-finish installations. Without a bespoke solution, the client risked inconsistent fit, safety compromises under foot traffic, premature degradation in external conditions, and customer dissatisfaction.

Our Collaboration

Gilcrest worked closely with Sunken Trampolines to transform their drawings into full manufacturing documentation, ensuring structural feasibility and fit. We engineered an aluminium box-section frame to form a stable load-bearing ledge, optimising frame geometry for strength and stability while keeping weight manageable. For the panel system, we selected steel skins with a high-performance rigid core (e.g. extruded polystyrene or honeycomb) and fully framed on all sides, to ensure the solutions meets load, durability and environmental exposure requirements. The design process accounted for internal tolerances for flush installation indoors, and durability under weather and ground conditions for external uses. All components were manufactured to specification, then flat-packed for safe transit and efficient on-site assembly.
