Ben is one of the youngest members of the Gilcrest team bringing enthusiasm to his role in our Bristol facility. He’s learned quickly and now is one of the go-to people for creating bespoke products and samples for our customers.

“I joined Gilcrest as a manufacturing apprentice in July 2020 and so far, my experience within the company has been a pleasure. I have been given many opportunities that I am grateful to have received such as gaining my forklift license and being trained to use CAD software. Working on the factory floor has been great as I’ve managed to interact with lots of different people, both internally and externally. I have also been professionally trained to operate and use most of the tools and equipment that we have available to us. My favourite part of my apprenticeship has been learning about how to build the panels and how they are made to customer specifications.”

Anika started her finance apprenticeship in June 2022 and hasn’t looked back since.

She started without any office experience but has learnt quickly and is already an integral part of the Gilcrest team, teaching other members of staff various processes and ensuring our day-to-day finances run smoothly every day..

“I’ve been doing my account assistant apprenticeship with Gilcrest manufacturing for around five months and so far, I have felt very supported and have been enjoying my apprenticeship here. During my apprenticeship so far, I have learned a lot about account procedures and been able to work and learn simultaneously and I have gained a lot of knowledge. I have also worked with other aspects of the business too which has helped me develop new skills and increase my communication skills. My apprenticeship here has been very clearly structured which has given me a clear view of where I want to go in a career.”

Having never worked in an office before, Will has gone from being a complete novice to our Contracts Team expert. Our apprenticeship programme helped him develop his professionalism and skills to a point where customers are excited to hear that he’s working on their projects.

“I first joined Gilcrest in January 2016 as a contracts apprentice, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the start of my career, working with some great people along the way. I acquired many new skills through my college experience & on work training. I also had the opportunity to attend multiple training courses in different areas which have helped me progress in my career. Following the completion of my qualifications, I was happy to accept a full-time role within the Gilcrest Contracts team. Since this, I have had many opportunities to develop and excel within my role and I am looking forward to an exciting future.”
