Sustainability.

We understand that the sustainability and environmental impact of your project are very important factors when deciding who to buy from or which products to specify, but rest assured, we are very conscious of our carbon footprint.

Carbon Neutral

We are proud to say that we are operationally Carbon Neutral! But what does that mean? Well, it means that as a business, we’ve taken many steps to ensure that our operational carbon output is completely offset to produce a NET result of 0 carbon emissions. Our carbon intensity is independently assessed through detailed carbon accounting, which allows us to accurately measure the carbon output of our business.

Over the past few years, we have increasingly taken accountability for our impact on the environment by making a range of changes to the way we operate, in order to reduce our overall carbon footprint.

Indian Wind Farm

As part of the efforts to help reduce our carbon footprint, in 2021, we helped fund the building of a wind farm in Madhya Pradesh, India. This is a 100.5 MW wind power project that consists of 67 wind turbine generators, each generating clean electricity by harnessing wind energy. This is a pivotal step taken to improve the infrastructure of a less-developed area in a more environmentally friendly way.

Here are some of the key outcomes of this sustainability project:

  • Fully Carbon Neutral by 2035
  • Local project
  • 400 trees planted
  • Saving wildlife

“At Asgard Cleanroom Solutions we believe sustainability improves the quality of our lives, protects our ecosystem and preserves natural resources for future generations. Within Asgard we also approach our supply chain with these same values including sustainability associated with an organisation’s holistic approach, considering everything, from manufacturing to logistics to customer service. Having Gilcrest as supplier helps us uphold these values.”

UK Tree Planting Project

In 2022, we fully funded an IFT (International Tree Foundation) project which saw the planting of over 400 native trees in several areas within the parish boundary of Middleton-on-the-Wolds, UK, using sites that are readily accessible to the public, on rights of way and in community green spaces to benefit wildlife and people, along with the wider environment.

Key outcomes of this project:

  • Reducing the impacts of disease in the area and introducing a new species will mitigate the risk of reduced numbers due to ash dieback disease and ensure there is sufficient canopy cover for various species of wildlife.
  • Used as a case study to highlight the physical and mental wellbeing benefits of having trees.
  • Strengthening the community by providing a positive project that.

Going forward, we will proceed with our continuous improvement plan and look to reduce our carbon intensity even further, by stripping away any unnecessary carbon emissions resulting from our operations.

“We monitor and, where possible, reduce our consumption of resources. We apply the waste hierarchy approach (“Prevent, Reduce, Re-use, Recycle and Recover”) to manage our waste.”
